I have started work on a book tentatively called “Starting a Museum”. More than “How to Start a Museum”, the book will explore the question “How could a museum be started?”. I will need lots of help and hope that I can call on the readers of this blog as active participants in the creation of the book. More about the planned book…
In the future museum exhibition design projects will be “project based” instead of “studio based”, using a “hive project approach” an approach where people come together for a museum project.

The fifth step in creating an exhibition, is the process of maintaining the exhibition, including; exhibit cleaning, scheduled maintenance, repairs, checking environmental conditions and checking artifact / Art security.
The forth step in creating an exhibition, is the process of exhibition installation, including; exhibit load-in, staging, casework installation, A/V installation, Art / artifact installation, punch list, soft opening and evaluation.
The third step in creating an exhibition, is the process of exhibition fabrication, including; contracting, working drawings, sourcing components, fabrication, A/V production and prototyping.
