Introduction

Since March 17th 2020 and the start of my Coronavirus quarantine, I have worked on a Strategic Plan for a museum in Tennessee, worked as an AAM MAP reviewer and worked on my new book Museum Visitor Experience. I am sure as everyone else, some days are better than others. Often it is difficult to have the concentration to work on detail work such as manuscript editing. This time has offered me time to reflect on the future.

I see my own future as teaching online, writing books and consulting.

  • Teaching Online Museum Courses
  • Writing, Museums 101, Museum Visitor Experience, Museums 102 and Museum HCI
  • Museum Consulting, Museum Planning, LLC – Museum Strategic PLanning, Museum Building Design, Museum Master Planning and Museum Exhibition Design, utilizing human computer interaction in museums, emerging computer interfaces in museums, tangible media in museums

Teaching Online

Writing

Continue to write on museum issues. Museums 101 has been successful and create follow up book Museum Visitor Experience. The new book to be a book, online course and online templates. Continue to write about museum issues here on Museum Planner, Museum Planning and Tangible Digital.

Consulting

I believe there are three major issues facing the world;

  1. Climate Change
  2. The issues resulting from the 4th Industrial Revolution, reskills, economic inequality
  3. Civil Society, the importance of democracy

I am trying to refocus my consulting work to be more focused on the three areas that I see as the priorities for the future:

  1. Climate Change, Interactive Nature Conservation Center and Nature Play Strategic Plan 2020 – 2025
  2. 4th Industrial Revolution, Interactive Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM) Pop-up Museum
  3. Civil Society, the importance of democracy, Civil Society Exhibition and Online Digital Programming

For each of the three projects above, I am working to use the same process;

  1. Create a shared written document similar to the Civil Society Exhibition and Online Digital Programming document
  2. Create community feedback similar to my Museum Visitor Experience: Understanding and Connecting with Museum Visitors – Survey

Apply User Centered Design:

  1. Business Model Canvas
  2. Value Proposition Canvas
  3. Stakeholder Mapping
  4. Empathy Mapping
  5. Personas
  6. Journey Mapping
  7. Service Design
  8. System Mapping
  9. Create sample designs for stakeholder feedback
  10. Iterate
